Welcome The Romance Studio

Today it is my pleasure to hand over the blog to one of my favourite sites... The Romance Studio and wonderful Tina Pavlik... so, let's get to it...

What do you want to find under YOUR Christmas tree?

If you could have anything -- ANYTHING -- under your Christmas tree, what would it be?

I was thinking about that while ago and it was hard because there were a few things I thought up.

Money is always good -- but no fun. Nothing is open on the big day and you'd have to wait. Or shop online. While I LOVE to shop online, it's not the same. I guess that goes for gift cards. Still, that next shopping day is fun. And I like Sally's, Claire's, The Loft (Yeah, like I can afford to even walk in THAT place.) =)

A dude? Hmm, well as much as I really like Hugh Jackman and Viggo Mortensen, I've already got the perfect guy. SO no... (but if I were a single gal... LOL)

A new car? Guess you'd have to put the tree precariously on the hood or something. Eh... I have my dream vehicle. Jeep Cherokee Grand, fairly new model. It completes my image as "Adventure Mom." I don't know that you could top that...

The latest video game console and a slew of games? Well... Did I mention I'm a recovering addict? Made up my own 12 step program and everything. Boy, it was hard making amends with those dudes from the DOOM series. LOL

Movies? Hmmm, that's a possibility. Love movies. That might work...

Still, this will require some thought. What would YOU ask for? Give me some ideas here. =)

I'll be giving away prizes to those who post -- for readers, authors too.

Talk to me!

  2. I was thinking about this very question the other day. I got my Christmas present earlier this year when I met my soulmate but of course I also must be honest -- I bought myself a SONY e-book reader and a guitar a few months ago. LOL I've already received my Christmas gifts :-). If I could have one gift or wish for Christmas for others, it would be that my siblings have happiness and contentment in their lives for the rest of their lives. For the world and I know it will sound corny, I wish for world peace so all of our soldiers will be out of harms way. Have we had any decade within recent memory without a war? Not that I can recall. We see scenes of war on TV so much we're becoming numb to it. We make videos game about war. We no longer see the horror and absolute uselessness of it. Total world peace for at least a few years would be a true gift.

  3. Okay, my wish is going to sound pretty selfish when compared to ending hunger and war. I pray everyday for the conditions of the world to improve, as I think most people do. So, I'm going to treat this question like a fantasy. What would my wish for Christmas be if I could have anything I wanted. I'd like to wake up to a huge envelope stuck in the branches of the tree. When I opened it, it would be a pair of tickets for a month long world cruise for me and my husband. Thoughts like that make my heart beat faster.

  4. Missy that is such a great answer...I think mine sounds pretty selfish too compared to some of the others but I want a new camera...a really nice digital but manual one. My oldest is going to be leaving home in two years (not that he hasn't really already)and I want something to take the pictures that matter. The ones where he isn't paying attention so he isn't acting like a sullen teenager, the ones where he is actually playing with his younger brother but doesn't want anyone to know.

For me these are going to be important. I know he isn't staying home for college as he has a talent that is going to require him to go to a big city...and I will miss him.

  5. If I could have whatever I wish under the tree, I would wish for health for both of my parents. They have been sick alot this year and are sick again now, so I would like for health for my parents...and maybe some new books to read over the holidays.

  6. Cherryl,

Now that's outstanding. And selfless. Thank you for the reminder and setting a good example for us all.

    Thanks,

  7. If I got to wish for anything it would be good health for my hubby and for my knee to be fully healed. We have a 3 year old daughter and 6 year old son and both of them are such bundles of energy. Since injuring my knee in November 2008 my knee just has not been same even after the surgery in January 2009 and the months of painful physical therapy. It gets to me sometimes because it is so much harder to keep up with the kids. My 6 year old usually understands but my 3 year old does not always understand why mommy can't do certain things with her anymore.

  10. Vanessa,

Not corny at all. I support our troops and send care packages to friends there. But I just want to bring them home now to their families. You know?

That's a nice wish for your family. I'll wish it with you. =)

You'll LOVE the Sony ebook reader. I love mine. Can't cram enough ebooks into it. LOL

The guitar? Can't help with that one. I have absolutely NO musical talent! LOL

  11. Missy,

Gosh, I'd love that too! What a wonderful wish! I hope one day you get to take that cruise. =)

    Thanks!

  12. I'd like a winning lottery ticket. *g* Barring that, I'd like good health, some chocolate and a good book. My needs are simple. :-)

  13. Brigit Aine,

Doesn't sound selfish to me. That's more an immediate need. Hope you get that camera for Christmas! =)

    Thanks for coming out!

  14. Well lets see...I think the best thing to know at Christmas would be that all our soldiers came home safe. That's my for the whole world present.

My selfish present...okay don't laugh! I want a pony lol Yes 30-something and still wants a pony for Christmas. And I'm not kidding either.

In addition, I like to see at least one present under my tree for one of my family that makes their eyes light up and say "OMG YOU GOT ME THAT?!"

    So that's me. ^.^

  15. I think I agree with Missy. I would love to have a holiday with just Mr. C and I. It's been a tough year come full circle and it would be great to be marooned somewhere warm, just for a pinch in time. :)

  16. Right now, my fondest wish is to be able to open a book store while still supporting my household. So, a money in a bank account and a deed/lease agreement for a location in town would be good.
I am single(widowed actually), so a good man would be my second choice.
Already had the best gift last week with news of the future grandbaby.

  17. Ultimately I would love more family to love! And since I don't see myself having children anytime soon that means more furry family!!!! A big sweet slobbery face from the local shelter or a fuzzy curious feline too... ahh my house would rival Dr. Doolittle's if it wasn't for my husbands tempering influence. *wry smile*

  19. Maria,

I would wish that too. My own parents -- though they are fairly young -- have an assortment of health troubles. That would make for a good Christmas. Gosh, if I could have that, I'd give up my own present. (Not like Mom's rack up at Christmas anyway, right? LOL_)

    Thank you!

    Tina

  20. Cherie,

Yikes, sorry about your knee. Mine are 7 and 9 and I do understand how frustrating that must be. And the younger they are? Yeah, they don't get it. So here's wishing with you for a Christmas where you can heal and get back to normal.

  21. Sherry,

That's so thoughtful. So many people are in that boat right now and I hope that they can get caught up and have a nice holiday.

They are lucky to have you!

  22. Rebekah,

Now you're talking! Love to knit. They make so many cool yarns now! When I was kid I taught myself to knit -- the first sweater I made was horrible. LOL back then, all you could get was basic Coates & Clark yarn and now there is all kinds of stuff!

    Hope you get it!

  24. Antonia,

I agree on the world present, absolutely. On the pony? What's wrong with that? I think that sounds great!

And there is nothing better at Christmas than that jaw drop moment when you get some THAT gift that they really wanted and can't believe you knew. I'd trade any gifts for myself for that moment. =)

  25. Colleen,

What a lovely thought. I think that sounds nice too. A quiet holiday at home. We had a tough year too that's ending on a much better note than it started on. Things are not as good as they were (from a certain point of view) but there's hope for the future and that's a great gift too.

  26. This is so much fun! I am having the best time reading all these lovely comments and nodding in agreement with all of you. If I had a special wish that could come true, it would be to spend my Holiday in Italy... I can't imagine anything more magical or beautiful.

Thanks, Tina, for coming by today, too. This is great!!

  27. Beth,

Wouldn't that be a great thing? To own a book store? That would be like my dream job. =)

Here's hoping one day you get that wish. And congratulations on the news of the grandbaby. When?

    Thanks for coming out.

  28. Miranda,

I do have two kids but I LOVE my furry family and the dh is more tolerant than some. =) Before we had the kids, I used to work for a veterinary hospital and volunteered at the animal shelter. I ended up with 8 pets from that. =) After I graduated, I started working at the university and ended up working at the women's shelter (which is hard but I recommend it). Anyway, I still have 7 pets who I love. (Well, 8 if you count the older dog dropped off here around Thanksgiving. We're trying to find his home but until then, he's family). We have 2 dogs (1 a guest), 4 cats, and 2 turtles. =)

So I'm with you on the furry family. =)

    Thanks for blogging!

  30. Denyse,

Oh my gosh, you have a wonderful blog here. This has been a wonderful day! Thank you SO much for having me.

    These are great posts!

Italy would be great! I've always wanted to go. Most of my family is Irish but I have one Italian great grandfather. He fled to America because he THOUGHT he killed a man in a fight over a woman. The man wrote him a letter 20 years later. LOL

Over the summer, a relative sent me a photo of him. It's really neat. That photo must be nearly 100 years old...

  32. I got my best Christmas present last Saturday, Caleb Michael, my new grandson.
Nothing can top that this year for me.

  33. I am not sure what it would be if I could have anything I wanted. I know that both hubby and I could use a new car or truck but that out of the question. I also wouldn't mind having a Wii, but not sure if I would use it. I worry more as to weather every one else has a good Christmas other then me. I guess the best thing would be for this world of our to improve and that there would be more jobs for people to at least have food on the table and a roof over their head.

  35. More than anything, I need a job. I lost my job the first week in November, and I have no income, health insurance or unemployment benefits. This is a very scary time for me (and my cats). All of my immediate family is gone, and I miss them very much. I love the holiday season, but this is the hardest time of my life.

And the Wii would be cool!

  41. Virginia C, I'll keep you in my thoughts. It is scary. At least when we went through the dh losing his job and being unemployed most of 2009, I still had work -- though it has slowed.

I'll send all the good thoughts I can in your direction...

  44. My world Christmas wish would be for everyone to know happiness and security.

But, hey the FANTASY Christmas Wish! Hmmm....I want a hero. You know, the alpha kind who is tough but has a soft side too. Brave, possessive and protective, handsome, strong and vulnerable too.

Wait a minute. I think I just wished for the hero of my latest book! LOL!

    HAPPY HOLIDAY HUGS to everyone!
