Hello everyone, today it is my great pleasure to have Lynn Reynolds as my guest. Enjoy, and indulge in a peek at her wonderful new book, Love Capri Style!
How long have you been writing?
For as long as I can remember! I've been making up stories since I was a kid. One of the first involved a circus elephant lost in the big city. When I grew up, I went to work writing for newspapers and as a publicist.
How long have you been a published author?
My first book, Thirty-Nine Again, was released in June 2009 -- so not very long at all, really!
What titles do you have available?
Thirty-Nine Again - a "chick noir" novel (chick lit meets romantic suspense) Breast cancer survivor Sabrina O'Hara wants to resume her peaceful existence with dull fiancé Scott. Imagine her surprise when she discovers he’s been leading a dangerous double life. Now Sabrina's on the run - from Scott, from the Mexican Mafia, and from one very determined, very sexy Homeland Security agent.
And my most recent novel, Love Capri Style - A sexy, sun-drenched contemporary romance set on the island of Capri. Can mild-mannered reporter Amanda Jackson get the exclusive on playboy Eric Greyford’s hectic love life? Or will she wind up as just another item on the gossip pages of his newspaper?
Do you have any new titles coming soon?
Not just yet. I have a non-romance ghost story that I’m hoping will be available as an e-book in time for Halloween. I also have a couple of new mystery series I’ve begun to work on. I’m not an extremely fast writer, unfortunately.
What is your favourite genre and why?
I really enjoy science fiction and fantasy, but I haven’t written anything in that genre. So far, I don’t have the patience to do all the detailed world-building.
I love mysteries and romantic suspense. Love Capri Style was harder for me to write than Thirty-Nine Again. I’m much more oriented toward involving the characters in all sorts of danger and outside conflict. I found focusing exclusively on the romance to be a lot more challenging.
What, to you, is the most exciting part of the writing process?
Creating a group of characters and really becoming interested in their lives and finding them doing things in the stories that I wasn’t entirely expecting. I know some authors do a lot of advanced plotting, but I don’t. So my characters frequently surprise me. Sabrina in Thirty-Nine Again turned out to be a lot handier with a gun than I expected. And a good thing too!
If you could co-author a book with anyone, who would you choose and why?
Julia Spencer-Fleming. I love her Reverend Clare Fergusson mysteries. Her mysteries are complex and clever and her characters feel very real and flawed but likeable, and I think the stories have the perfect blend of suspense and romance.
Or with James Patterson because his books sell ridiculously well and I could sure use a share of those royalties ;-)

Thanks so much for being my guest.
Thanks so much for having me, Denysé! Sorry I couldn’t really be in beautiful Nova Scotia with you. (It is lovely here today, too!)
Amanda Jackson only took the job with Fame magazine to get closer to her estranged father, billionaire publisher Peter Tate. Instead of welcoming her, Dad sends her out of the country, to cover a music festival on the magnificent isle of Capri. There Amanda finds herself up close and personal with her dad’s leading competitor – dashing British playboy Eric Greyford. Can she get an exclusive on Eric’s hectic love life, or will she wind up as just another item on the gossip pages of his newspaper?
Denyse, here’s an excerpt from Love Capri Style. (THANKS!)
Eric drew himself to his full height and flipped off his sunglasses. "I'm sorry if we both took the moment too seriously last night, Amanda. The sex was incredible, but that's all it was. Finding out who you are is a reminder of why this should end when we both leave Capri."
Her mouth fell open. He longed to stop it with a million kisses, but he remained rooted to his little corner of the terrace. If he moved any closer, he might smell that soapy lavender scent and he'd be undone by her again.
Amanda advanced on him.
"The best I've ever had, you said to me." She pointed a finger at his chest. "Now who was lying to whom?"
"I wasn't lying, I –"
She tilted her head up in angry triumph. "No. I may not be as worldly as you are, but I know you weren't lying then. You're lying now. I'll tell you what your problem is, shall I?"
He poked his tongue in his cheek and glared down at her. "Oh, please do."
"You're afraid again. You're afraid of what you feel when you look at me. It might mess up the brilliant new life you have planned. Loving me might take time away from building Greyford Publishing into a media empire to rival my father's. Loving me might require you to occasionally put that business on the back burner. Loving me might mean you'd have to be loyal to one woman for the rest of your life, and gosh, wouldn't that be boring?"
No. He almost said it out loud. No, it wouldn't be boring, if that one woman were you.
Meet the Author:
I’m a writer, a wife and a mom - although not necessarily in that order. I’m a city girl trapped in Green Acres.
In my other life as a journalist, my feature articles have appeared in major daily and weekly newspapers. Remember those? My short stories and poetry have been published in a few obscure literary mags that you've never heard of. At various times in my life, I've also been a child model, an actress, a stagehand, a secretary, a seller of ladies' lingerie and - in a brief fit of practicality, a computer programmer. My secret ambition is to be a wench at the Renaissance Faire.
I write romances because I truly do believe in Happily Ever After.
