Lisa Jackson is back!!!

ISBN: 142010277X
Publisher: Zebra
Publish Date: July 2009
Genre: Romantic Suspense

HE’LL CHOOSE THEM…Detective Regan Pescoli has worked the “Star Crossed Killer” case for months, never imagining she’d be captured by the madman she’s been hunting. Regan knows exactly what he’s capable of—the way he leaves his victims to freeze to death, terrified and alone. And avoiding the same fate will take every drop of her courage and cunning.

ABDUCT THEM… Regan Pescoli is unlike any woman Nate Santana has met before. But now she’s missing, and Nate knows something is dangerously wrong. The only person who can help him find his lover is Detective Selena Alvarez, Regan’s partner. As Selena digs deeper into the Star-Crossed Killer case and the body count rises, the truth about Regan’s disappearance becomes chillingly clear.

AND KILL THEM… In the desolate Montana woods, evil is lurking. And with time running out, the only way to save Regan will be to get inside a killer’s twisted mind and unravel a shocking message that is being revealed, one body at a time…

Here’s the latest from Lisa Jackson! She’s following the success of last summer’s five-week New York Times bestseller LEFT TO DIE with CHOSEN TO DIE, on sale July 28th. In it Lisa takes readers back to Montana where the worst blizzard Pinewood County has seen in fifty years continues to rage. They’re also reunited with the Grizzly Falls Sheriff Department and detectives Regan Pescoli and Selena Alvarez who, contrary to news reports, are certain that the first serial murderer ever to hunt in their part of the state has not been captured—and that the horrifying trail of murder in the Bitterroot Mountains is far from over.

Once you get a chance to enjoy and recommend this book, and I’m sure you’ll agree that, once again, Lisa delivers “the goods”—nail biting suspense and memorable characters—as she weaves the story of a relentless murderer who leaves behind a trail of frozen corpses, desperate visions, and a Sheriff’s department convinced that their instincts are right, that the murderer remains at large and is ready to strike again. They’re not about to stand down—especially when Detective Pescoli is suddenly discovered missing and, as with the killer’s prior victims, her car is found crumpled and abandoned.

A book that IS a valuable resource for parents

Join Etta K. Brown, author of the nonfiction guide, Understanding Learning Disabilities: Understanding the Problem and Managing the Challenges (Langdon Street Press), as she virtually tours the blogosphere in July on her first virtual book tour with Pump Up Your Book Promotion!

Etta K. Brown received her undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University with a major in Dental Hygiene Education and the Masters in Education degree from South Carolina State University with a major in Special Education. The Educational Specialist Degree was conferred at Kent State University with studies in School Administration, and a major in School Psychology.

Through her graduate programs, and internships, the author acquired skills with speech and language, visual-motor training, auditory training, and the teaching of reading and handwriting.

During twenty years of professional experience in the public schools in Ohio, Iowa and California she has worked as a special education teacher, a school social worker and as a school psychologist. At no time, in either of those positions did she feel that she was able to apply any of her acquired knowledge to help children to learn.

Instead, while she didn't always agree, much was learned about what not to tell parents about their children. She also learned how school systems function, why they function the way that they do, why there were some things that it was not in the best interest of the school district for parents to know and why they should not be told.

Those were long, frustrating years watching children being placed in Special education because that was all that the School District had to offer. On the other hand were the frustrated parents who agonized over what to do about their child’s learning problems and the stigma of being placed in Special Education.

Having recently retired from public education and started a practice as a Licensed Educational Psychologist, the author is now free to discuss Special education and share information believed to be in the best interest of parents without being unprofessional or disloyal to employers. She continues to reach out to parents and children through her writing. Her current book is a summary of all that she would have told parents during her career had she been permitted to do so.

The book Learning Disabilities empowers parents with the information and skills needed to claim the rights delegated to them by Federal legislation. Under No Child Lift Behind, the government abdicates its responsibility for the education of special children by delegating rights to parents that supersede those of the school. The problem is that parents are not sufficiently prepared to claim these rights in a manner that will insure that their child receives an appropriate education.

This book meets that need for parent preparation. Parents are prepared with an introduction to the environmental factors that contribute to developmental learning disabilities, enabling them to engage in an effective prevention program at home before the child starts to school. Parents are assisted initially by learning how to rear children who are neurologically ready to learn. They will learn how trauma, nutrition, childrearing practices, allergies, and other environmental factors impact child development interfering with the neurological development of learning mechanisms in the brain.

Part II of the book answers all the parents questions about test and testing, how children are identified as needing special education, the process of meetings and development of the IEP, and finally it identifies all the documents to be signed as well as questions to ask, when to ask them, and what to do if they don’t get the right answer (expected answers are provided also). This part of the book is a step by step road map to a preferred conclusion to all the meetings that will result in an appropriate education for their child.

Part III of the book is a reference explaining all the ways in which learning disabilities manifest in the learning behavior of children. Parents and teachers are supplied with strategies, interventions and techniques for modifying the classroom, and accommodating the child to facilitate the learning process. Parents are prepared to represent their child during the special education process, and teachers and administrators are encouraged to embrace this new, involved, active parent to form a coalition of parent, teacher and child with the objective of creating an ideal learning environment which supports the child at home and at school.

What the Romance Novel Industry has been waiting for...

In the works since April 2008, it's finally here! No more seeing the same novel cover images over and over again from stock image websites! No more surfing through pages and pages of images just to find skinny boys or lifestyle poses! No need to search for models, photographers, schedule photo shoots and wait months for your images!

Happily ever after.... ANNETTE SNYDER

JULY 2nd: Annette's winner is COLLEEN LOVE

If there’s one thing I like, its romance and happily ever after. The other thing I like is Independence Day with all the fanfare and explosion of fireworks. I’ve combined these two events together in my latest release, Intimate Flames, which revolves around The Fourth of July. It’s a contemporary romance involving a fireman and a convenience store clerk. Bradie Carpenter holds dear only memories of love lost. Armed with determination after Grant Blain’s tragic death, Bradie moves forward in life with their son. Without the exclusive Blain family name or the advantage of the family fortune and, diligent to overcome the obstacles of single parenthood, she sets a goal of a better life in the picturesque town of Union.

Andrew “Amen” Packard married too young with an unrealistic view of the future. After a turbulent divorce stemming from pressure of his firefighter career, Amen chooses his heated profession over affection for wife, family and friends. Not until he meets Bradie does he rethink his decision to exclude love from his life.

Can Bradie discover that money doesn’t always extinguish love?

Will Amen allow a ready-made family near enough to bash towering walls of seclusion?

Is friendship and attraction enough to heal the lives of two souls charred from fate?

This heroine and hero create fireworks of their own while trying to stay independent.

You can pick up your copy of Intimate Flames right now at and visit my site to find out more about my writing career. Make sure to check out the information on the monthly, online book club I host called Lost in a Good Book at Writers and Readers of Distinctive Fiction. The link is on my site’s Event’s page.

And, for Denyse’s blogger friends, and as thanks to Denyse for hosting me today, I’m offering a cool summer prize package. With your comment, you’ll have a chance to win a big book tote, great for stocking all your summer party supplies, sunscreen to protect you from the rays while you’re out lounging in the sun and an autographed copy of Intimate Flames, the perfect summer read. Good luck and thanks for stopping by!
