The latest news and updates

Well, things continue to move right along. This week I’ve signed up to do my first ever interview! It won’t take place until September, so I’ll be making another announcement then. I hope you’ll join me when the time comes. It’s with Romance Junkies. As I said, when the time comes I’ll post the appropriate URL for everyone who’s interested.

Also, next month will see my first book taken off the Amber Quill catalogue. (A Safer Haven) I intend to revise the story some, and I hope it will emerge again in a few months as a Liquid Silver Book. In the meantime, the next book they’ll be considering is my long-awaited Victorian erotic mystery. This is the first in a series of novellas that will include at least four titles. As soon as I have a cover, I’ll post it for everyone to look at, I’m sure it will be lovely!

Other news is that there is finally some movement on my non-erotic fantasy novel, AS FATE DECREES. I’m hoping to get a peek at some preliminary cover sketches, which I’m dying to see. Since this story is a tale of epic proportions with a heroine who walks the corridors of time, it’s got a lot of potential. Toss in Greek Gods and the turn of a millennium and you’ve got yourself quite a tapestry upon which to work!!

My website is undergoing some minor work, too. I’m hoping to separate the erotic titles from the non-erotic, as well as set up a PR page where you can meet some of the wonderful people I work with and others that I simply admire. I want to share some of their amazing work with you, because in terms of art and writing, they’re the best!! The first feature is for Harlequin author Lucy Monroe. Other folks I’m hoping to introduce you to are Nancy Baker, Margaret Carter, and maybe even the Art Director at Liquid Silver, if she’ll consent! My partner on the Rebel Knight project might be persuaded, too?? Who knows?

Anyhow, I’ve updated a couple of earlier posts, so you can see the full cover on my debut novel with LSB, and I’ve tried to make Margaret’s promo a little more balanced. Good books should have decent looking promos, right? Also, the second installment of the Rebel Knight serial should pop un in a week or so, too, so drop in and check it out! If you’ve missed Chapter One, you can find it via my website’s “Freebies” page, or by going to:

Talk to you again soon…

But, Max has a dark side to his life, and when that secret world clashes, violently, with the happiness he's found, the handsome commander is forced to face not only his past—but also the future he wants with Kaylee. Margaret L. Carter's books

These two books were written by a good friend, who is also a wonderful author. Check them out if you get a chance, because they'll be worth the effort, believe me!!

Carter:Young sorceress Aetria, banished after a battlefield disaster to learn control of her wild magic, returns to the army's Sorcerer Corps in the midst of a new war. New Website & a great review!

Hey there! I have a wonderful new website now, all up to date and redesigned. There are even a couple of new “freebies” to grab, so I hope everyone will take a minute and have a peek at it. I think it’s beautiful, but I may be biased?? Let me know your thoughts and comments, okay, so I can pass them along to the website designer, who’s been incredible!

Also, a new review for my last AQP release that I wanted to share with everyone. It’s truly amazing how thrilling it still is to see that other folks enjoy my work!! So, without further ado:

REBEL HEART: 4.5 Ribbons: Rebel Heart is an emotional story and contains the delicate subject matter of the heroine’s past rape. Francesca is a great heroine who just wants to forget the past, but first she must face it in order to move on. This shows a very vulnerable side to her and the emotional stress that she must endure to finally find happiness. Nick is the sensual man who is willing to do whatever it takes to help Francesca get past her rape. His sensitivity will move and touch the reader, and his determination to keep her safe makes him an awesome hero. Love scenes are passionate, but with a deep emotional quality that readers will feel to their very souls. Denysé Bridger has proved time and again what a terrific author she is; this book is one of her best and sure to be a keeper.

Good news & Bad news...

Okay, the most surprising bit of news to share is the ending of my contracts with Amber Quill Press. All the pending contracts, the books that have been listed for a long time as “Coming Soon”, have been cancelled. This decision was agreed to by both parties involved, and I feel it is very much in the best interests of my work and the company. So, the immediately affected titles are: 1-900-Surprise!, An Unspoken Betrayal, Dayne, Destiny Met, The Darkest Place, Shades of Death, Silent Death, Out Of Hell, Perdition, and The Domino Effect. I’m going to miss working with AQP, there are some really amazing people involved with this company. In particular, my wonderful editor Karin Story, who is not only a great editor, she’s an equally terrific person!

So, with regard to the above note, those books already available will gradually be taken from my AQP author page as the contracts expire on them. The first one due to return to me is A Safer Haven, which is a Western erotica. The story that won me my first AQP contract, as a matter of fact. It’s a really nice, quick, sexy adventure, so if you’d like to read it, it’s only got another month before it vanishes! (Official date is: June 19th, 2006) As the others expire, I’ll post notes a few weeks prior to the expiration date. I haven’t as yet decided if they’ll be resubmitted to another publisher, or not? We’ll see, I guess. Let me know if you have an opinion to offer on the subject, okay?

My first contract with new publisher Liquid Silver Books has been signed and delivered now, so there shouldn’t be too much interruption in releases. My debut title with them is going to be my first full-length erotic novel, and it’s called Simply The Best. If you like lots of action, an alpha hero, plenty of hot sex, and a liberal dose of danger, this book might be just the one to get!! The cover is being done now, and if you want to take a peek and see what’s going on, the URL is: http://www.liquidsilverbooks.com/

So, with this having happened, a lot of the titles I’ve chatted about in the past here will now be submitted to Liquid Silver Books for their consideration. The Victorian mystery series, the Masquerade Ball set, etc. My work list has about twenty tiles on it at the moment, so there’s lots to complete and place. Out Of Hell and An Unspoken Betrayal are the first two stories in the Victorian set, and they’ll be the lead-in tales for The Devane Files.

My first-time-in-years Harlequin submission is also underway. It’s Historical, set in the Old West, and is proving to be one of the best things I’ve ever written. I have a good feeling about it, so let’s hope!! I’ve begun work on a new fantasy adventure, too.

By month’s end, the second chapter of the Rebel Knight serial should be done and will be posted shortly thereafter. If you’ve missed Chapter One, you can get caught up anytime by going to: http://www.amc1902.com/RebelKnight.php (It’s a FREE download.) And, don’t forget, if you want the backstory, it’s available as a short erotic novella called Rebel Heart, from AQP at: http://www.amberquill.com/

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is set for release in July, and I can’t wait. If you loved this movie as much as I did and can’t wait for further Jack Sparrow adventures, you might want to look into ordering a fanzine called Tales From The Black Pearl, which is published by a friend of mine. I’m in the process of writing a tale for her at the moment, though I don’t know if I’ll make the deadline for this one, so it might not be out right away! Anyhow, if you want to look into getting the issues that are available, visit: http://www.cyphrevoudou.com/ and go to the Marketplace!

And, that’s it for the moment. Feel free to email if you want to chat, or comment. I don’t know if/when my website will be updated, so anyone who wants to know what’s currently going on will have to drop in here for whatever news there is to share. The website was a gift from the Creative Director at AQP, and I don’t know how long it will remain up now that we’re not working together. Talk to you again soon….

Business stuff...

My next book release was supposed to be June 1st, a pirate fantasy title that would complete the paperback collection called ROGUES. I don’t know when/if the book(s) will be on schedule or not, but I have been trying to get things straightened out and in order. Once I have a tentative date for some of the material, I’ll post things here, of course. For anyone who missed earlier posts, the REBEL KNIGHT project is up and running, and the back-story was published a few weeks ago at Amber Quill Press. If you enjoy the “modern-day Western” serial that is being sponsored by the American Motorcycle Company (http://www.amc1902.com/), then you may very well enjoy the short erotic romance novella that tells more about the hero’s past. The serial is a FREE download from the AMC1902 site, and the URL is: http://www.amc1902.com/RebelKnight.php

My first contract with Liquid Silver Books is pending. Along with this being my first contract with them, it’s also my first novel-length erotic romance. The book is called Simply The Best, after the Tina Turner song, and it’s about the leader of a team of mercenaries, and obviously, the woman he falls for. Like all good adventure/romances, things hit a few unexpected snags before the happily ever after, but I think this one is going to be fun for everyone. At least I hope so. Check out their very impressive website at: http://www.liquidsilverbooks.com/

I’m also at work on a new fantasy adventure novel for Canadian publishers Edge Science Fiction & Fantasy. This is the publisher for my first non-erotic contract, and it was a long time coming! One thing anyone who’s writing should really be aware of is the LONG time it some times takes to get that first, exciting contract. This one was several years in the making, but it paid off. I believe this book is probably one of the very best things I’ve written at this stage. I hope the readers will agree once it’s available. Meanwhile, if you enjoy good sci-fi and fantasy, you might want to look at their current catalogue: http://www.edgewebsite.com/

Anyway, that’s enough for today, I think. As usual, I have a ton of stuff to do, and many writing projects to continue working on so I can dump more on the unsuspecting reading community! Remember the FREE eBook contest is on again, so don’t forget to pick a book and drop me a note with your entry, okay??

Oh, last note. The first book in Lucy Monroe’s Scorsolini Trilogy is officially available this month, so if you want to read a romance novel that will leave you smiling for hours once you’ve finished it, pick up a copy of The Prince’s Virgin Wife. It’s from the Harlequin Presents imprint, and should be readily available since it’s a May title. I can’t recommend it enough, it not only made me feel good inside, it left me smiling every time I thought about it!! If you don’t believe me, check out other reader comments at: http://www.lucymonroe.com/ Enjoy…

Holly

Hey, just in case anyone needs a smile today, here’s a look at the family pet. She’s a pure bred Siberian Husky, four years old, and her name is Holly. Short for Holiday, since she was born over the Christmas Holiday season. She’s goofy, totally loving, and will cheerfully accept any snacks being offered…

Branscombe Richmond

For those of you who’ve wondered precisely who Branscombe Richmond is, I figured it was time to put up a picture of him. My guess is a lot of people will recognize the face, since this man is so talented and seems to work nonstop. So, this particular picture is from RENEGADE, the series he co-starred in with Lorenzo Lamas about ten years ago. It was a Stephen Cannell production, and remains one of the most popular shows in syndication. Branscombe played a gorgeous Native American multi-millionaire named Bobby Sixkiller. If you’ve never seen the series, it’s a lot of fun and you should try and catch a few episodes, I bet you’ll be hooked in no time!!

Chit-chat, the eBook contest, and just plain silly stuff

Okay, first off, the free eBook contest has gotten off to a rocky start, but it's being reinstated as of today. Since the first month went oddly, I awarded prizes to everyone who entered. I hope things will go better in future, and book selections will have to be selected from the Amber Quill Press author page rather than my website, since it's not been updated and the newer releases aren't listed there as available. So, if you want to enter again, feel free to select anything but a trade paperback. http://www.amberquill.com/bio_Bridger.html

Also, a nifty blog that you might want to look at is:
http://lauries-laudanum.blogspot.com/
Laurie's a neat lady who reviews for Romance Junkies, and is really a terrific person with lots of interesting stuff to chat about. So, drop in a see her via the blog!!

I'm in the process of finishing up a couple of fun stories at the moment. One of them is a return to fan fiction, and if you like Pirates of the Caribbean, you might enjoy it! A new Jack Sparrow tale that I'm writing for a friend's fanzine. Will keep you posted, but if you're interested in the book and/or back issues of previous volumes, visit: www.cyphrevoudou.com and have a look around at the Marketplace! LOTS of cool pirate stuff here.

And, to everyone who's been sending notes about the Rebel Knight serial, thanks so much for all your enthusiasm! I'll be passing along comments to Branscombe, too, as soon as he's back from Hawaii. The second chapter is on my work list to be done by the end of the month.
