Just when you think you’ve heard it all….
After five years of activity, and networking–someone reported
me to Facebook today as a fake profile. And once again this amazing social
network chose not to look at the page, where my official websites, blogs, and
other social media accounts are listed and linked. They deactivated my account
in the middle of a conversation with a friend, and have requested that I
provide my passport and other identification information to prove I am a real
person.
This comes on the heels of a block over an image, and the
backlash of some petty people who don’t like my stance on role-players and
their ugly antics. So, apparently almost 9000 people have been interacting with
a figment of their imaginations for the past five years.
I wish I could say
this doesn’t upset me, but it does. There are people I have met through
Facebook who mean the world to me, good people who are real friends now, people
I talk to daily and love, and this was our way of communicating. I am more than
a little bit upset.
So, be aware folks, doesn’t matter if you’re real or not–you
can be shut down without warning, or being given a chance to prove yourself to
be a real person until AFTER you vanish and friends are left stunned and
confused.
We will get you back. I promise. If not, then I will leave as well. I am so fed up with this shit! Just had enough.
ReplyDeleteDenyse, You have my full support and love. What was done to you was wrong. Facebook, and I'm sure other sites as well, needs to have a better system to weed out trouble and drama than the system they currently have in place. We will stand by you, sister.

Thanks everyone. Facebook is a corporate entity, and pretty much can do and does whatever it likes. Pornography runs rampant on the site, false profiles by the thousands, but if someone points a finger at you, you can be wiped out of existence there in a blink... They don't look to see the account activity and validity, they just have their automated system deactivate your account and leave it that way until some poor overworked human can take a look for real. If the account is reactivated, there will be changes made, more changes than have been made in the past month. I've really reached a place where this site serves only one purpose for me - an inbox to people I don't talk to elsewhere. The rest... I've had it up to the eyes with the pettiness and the bullying antics. Love and blessings to you all.... <3
ReplyDeleteI am having same problems with me "Registered" Trademark - I reported several Fake accounts which they 'eventually took down'., but then it took me nearly a year to set up a business page using my own trademark. ...AND THEN they un-hooked my "Like" button some how, which drove me crazy for months - I could go on and on. Finally set up a page with a different title, but am still have problems getting "Likes". Supposedly they were going to transfer all "Likes" from previous page to current - someone cannot count - I cannot get past 29 and have to date lost another 3 !?!?

ReplyDeleteIt must be, you're right - silly me. My fan page was restored about 20 minutes ago, apparently... There's a lot going on here at the moment, and I know where this crap started, so I'm not going to be in a social mood with some individuals for a very long time.
