Happy New Year! @DenyseBridger #RomFantasy

I haven’t done a year in retrospect before, but 2013 has been an adventure for me in many ways, creatively, personally, and professionally. At the end of it all, some lessons learned, and maybe a little wisdom acquired–who really knows, right? Life has a way of showing up what we need, and this year I’ve learned a lot from the people around me who care.

There will be some immediately visible things happening over the next few weeks, mainly that I will be a little more scarce on the social media scene. Two reasons for this, one is I am really tired right down to my soul, and can’t keep all the irons in the fire. Secondly, and I hope this will please at least a few people, I want to concentrate more on writing actual books again. While the socializing and promotions have often been fun, it eats up huge chunks of time that should have been spent creating new books and stories. So, choices had to be made.

I’ve considered a lot of directions to go in terms of writing, and there are things planned that will be a lot of fun creatively. I’ve given up the notion of quitting. I don’t think I could do it, really. I have to write, it’s my voice to the world in general. However, there will be more diversity. More genres where sex and romance are not the focus, but perhaps the backbone in a more subtle way. I need to find my writers’ voice again, and I can’t do that writing in one genre, even if I try to mix elements. There are superb erotic romance authors out there, and I’m not one of them. So, I will find what works for me. As I told my wonderful editor, I like sexy, sensuous romance–SEXUOUS is the term I’ve given it. A softer touch than straight up erotic, and a more sensual touch than traditionally labelled sweet romance. I’m also heading back to fantasy worlds. I love creating them, doing the background, making them real. And then populating them with heroes and heroines who are more than able to battle the epic war between good and evil!

Personally–I think I have found a balance internally at last. This past year saw my life well blessed with the presence of some extraordinary friends. In at least one of those hearts was a light and wisdom that made me see a great many things in a whole new way. After a lot of personal struggles and fears, I learned to accept certain aspects of life, and just let faith do the rest. With that came a very special kind of peace and calm. The craziness that was swallowing my sanity suddenly didn’t exist anymore, and it was a special kind of release. That freedom is worth more than I can say.

So, in conclusion, I hope the coming year will be rich with happy changes and challenges well met. I don’t make resolutions, but my goal is to produce at least two new novels. My wish for all of you is that you find peace in your hearts, and that each new day gives you something to smile about and feel blessed. Happy New Year everyone – see you in 2014!

A Family In Need @KaydenMcLeod @DenyseBridger

First off, this is on the level, and not a scam of some kind. The Holidays often Bless us, but once in awhile, this season of generosity and kindness strikes a blow to friends that is harsh and unforgiving. My dear friend Kayden received bad news over the Holiday, and someone who means a lot to her needs help. Please read this, and if you can help in any way, even with something small, please do so:

Kayden wrote: Today I received some disheartening news. One of my good friends, Yvette, had been through a horrible Christmas morning. Her house burned down, leaving her and her family without anything over the holidays.

The Red Cross answered their call, providing them with housing for a few days, but her need is great, as herself, her husband and seven children are without housing or clothing, with the exception of the donations of good people like ourselves, that are willing to reach out and provide for a family in great need.

I ask on behalf of these wonderful people, if you could extend a helping hand: clothes for the young children, donations of food or money to get them through this trying time. Even five dollars helps immensely. I know you don’t know them, but Yvette is a wonderful person who has never done wrong to anyone, and she and her family deserve the best of holidays. I have known her for so long, and she is a reviewer at our review site, Siren Book Reviews. Her adoration for the written word made us fast friends, and I even had the chance to have lunch with her during a trip to Florida, with one of her delightful children when he was an infant. My heart goes out to them, and I hope yours does too.

Please share this post, and tell your friends! Please read the following information for donations. Tomorrow Yvette is going to go out and open a PO Box so I can provide an address to send physical donations. So please keep an eye out for that update. For anyone who sends a donation, I offer you one of my e-books of your choice.

Send me an e-mail with your chosen title: kaydenmcleod@gmail.com
Yvette’s Paypal address is: ytlowe@gmail.com

UPDATE TODAY: Today, I have compiled all of the information for donations to Yvette Mathews-Lowe and her family. On Christmas morning, the family’s home burned down. For the next three days, they have somewhere to stay, provided by the Red Cross.

We are trying to raise funds and collect donations of clothes, toys, books, games and food for the Lowe family during these trying times. Anything you can afford to give is greatly appreciated.

Anyone who donates $5.00 or more will receive e-books of their choice from Kayden McLeod, Nikki Noffsinger, Denysé Bridger, and Lady Bee Publishing. Please contact Kayden McLeod once you have confirmed a donation at: kaydenmcleod@gmail.com

Mistletoe Hop @DenyseBridger #RomFantasy

Christmas Trees. Holiday Music. Sugar Cookies. Glitter and Bows. And Best Of All... the Mistletoe.

Romance books enhance our holiday traditions. Who doesn't love to cuddle under a warm blanket near a fire place on a cold day and read? Hop around with us to celebrate the best romance books of the season.

Read excerpts from some good books. Enter each of the author contests. Tell us what you like to read during the holidays. Find some new-to-you authors to ring in the New Year with.

Welcome to my stop on the Mistletoe Christmas Hop! This is one of the best times of year for me, and is easily my favourite Holiday of the entire year. It seems like this is the one time of year when people really do reach out and express warmth to others. I think it reminds us that magical and wonderful things are still possible, something most of us lose sight of all too easily in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

A good friend of mine partnered with me late last year to write our second Duet. Our first was a Valentine set called Pas de Deux, so we chose Christmas for the second collaborative effort. One story set in the past, and one contemporary - but the common bond was a lovely pair of silver bell earrings that became a family heirloom. We gave away the earrings earlier this month, but I do have a very pretty pendant to give to a lucky winner this time, so don't forget to leave you name and email behind! There's a picture of the necklace following the excerpt. I hope you enjoy meeting the Hamiltons. Merry Christmas to you all, and may your holiday and your hearts be well and truly blessed - today and always!

Silver Bells - a romantic Duet
Sensual Romance - Historical Western and contemporary

BUY it here:

Connected by several generations of family tradition, a gift originally given back in 1878 finds its way into the hands and heart of the newest addition to the Hamilton family. The silver bell earrings are an heirloom blessed by love, and once again the magic of the holiday combines with the magic of the heart to unite lovers touched by Destiny.

A Second Chance by Denysé Bridger
(Historical Western romance)

Enroute back to his home in Montana, Joshua Hamilton is bushwhacked and left for dead. As stubborn as he is strong, Josh makes his way to the nearest homestead, and meets Sara Grant. Left alone after travelling to reside with her brother and his wife only to lose them to illness, Sara nurses Joshua back to health, all the while trying to deny the tender awakening of love. As the holiday approaches, danger arrives to threaten the future they haven't even begun to share.

A Christmas for Beginnings by Brigit Aine
(Contemporary erotic)

Stephanie is worried that starting over, by moving to Wyoming to work for a guy she's never even talked to, might be a bit extreme. Cole doesn't know what to expect from his new cook, but he hopes to take some of the work load off his mom. Together, they learn that fate is at work, and with a little Christmas Magick, all will be well.

An excerpt from A SECOND CHANCE:

Joshua feigned slumber as he watched her move around the quiet cabin. She kept the small place immaculate, and he sensed a peace in the atmosphere that he’d rarely encountered in his life. Only once had he felt this safe in a home, and that was a time he preferred not to look back on.

“Are you hungry this morning, Mr. Hamilton?”

He smiled at her words, then opened his eyes fully.

“How’d you know I was awake?”

She returned the smile and came to stand next to the bed.

“You’ve been here for most of a week now,” she explained, lifting the blankets to look at the bandaging that was wrapped around his waist, the bulkiest section against the right side of his back. “I can hear the changes in your breathing. I know when your dreams are terrorizing you, and when they’re not.”

He didn’t look terribly pleased with the observation.

“You haven’t answered my question, Mr. Hamilton,” she pointed out when she’d tidied the bedding and was standing upright again.

“Joshua,” he requested. “Call me Joshua.” He shifted in the bed, tossed aside the sheet and blanket, then gave her an icy look. “I assume you’ve still got my clothes, madam?”

She nodded.

“It’s Sara,” she said firmly. “Your clothes are just fine, Joshua. And, your gun is right there,” she pointed, and he glanced at the shell belt and the holstered weapon where they hung from one of the posts of the brass-trimmed headboard. She pulled a curtain and gave him privacy that was more courtesy than necessity.

She kept her ears attuned to the sounds of his movement, and forced herself not to run when she heard him stumble, then sit heavily on the bed. His breathing worried her.

“Are you all right, Mr...? Joshua,” she corrected automatically.

There was no answer. She listened, heard him stand, then he fell. She ran to the other side of the room, flung aside the curtain, and sighed in dismay. Half-naked and glistening with sweat from his exertions; Joshua’s strength had deserted him halfway into the process of getting dressed.

She coaxed him back onto the bed with physical effort and gentle words, fully cognizant of his virtual lack of understanding. He passed out as soon as he was flat on the mattress again.

* * *

Sara’s frown deepened without her knowing it as she left the barn and walked slowly back to her cabin. She’d tended his horse as carefully as she had the man himself, and was beginning to worry about the continued bouts of fever and sickness that were showing no signs of diminishing. She’d suggested riding to the nearby town of Silver Creek for a doctor, but he’d been so adamant with his refusal, she’d relented against her better judgement.

She opened the door to the cabin and went inside. When her eyes adjusted to the shadows, she spotted him sitting up in the bed, gazing out the window. His head turned the moment she came fully in and he was watching her in thoughtful silence.

“How long have I been here?”

It was a question he asked each time he regained consciousness and was without the maddened fever.

“Six days,” she replied quietly.

His look moved back to the window, and the distant range of mountains.

“Thank you, Sara,” he said after a nod and a lengthy pause. He felt her next to him and shifted his gaze from the window to her again. She was a pretty woman, he noted, really seeing her for the first time. Sara was like him in colour, fair-haired without being blonde, eyes not quite hazel, but blue-green in shade, and she was willowy slender; deceptive in her appearance of being fragile, he knew. In her quiet, watchful eyes he felt compassion and caring.

“Is there anyone I should be notifying about your presence here?” she asked cautiously.

He almost smiled, then shook his head.

“Someone somewhere must love you, Joshua Hamilton,” she spoke the words before she could think not to, and his hazel eyes sharpened with a flash of anger.

“I’m sorry,” she apologized quickly. “Your life is not my business.”

When she would have walked away, Joshua grabbed her hand and made her look at him again.

“I owe you my life,” he said with a small smile, irony in his steady tone.

She laughed very softly.

“I don’t think so. You’re as stubborn a man as any I’ve ever met. I think you’re just not ready to die, so nothing’s going to change your mind.” For the first time, Joshua really smiled and she was struck again by his attractiveness. “You still can’t get up, however,” she admonished firmly. “Not for a few days, at least.”

“I can make it to the table, Sara,” he objected.

Their eyes clashed as they stared at each other, but Joshua won that battle of wills. She nodded, reluctantly, and offered wordless support once he’d pulled on his pants and had his shirt over his shoulders. He was gasping for breath when he crossed the room and collapsed on a chair at the table.

Sara pretended not to notice.

“Do you think you can eat now?”

He looked for something other than enquiry in that question, but there was nothing in her eyes that revealed the sarcasm he instinctively felt was behind the words.

“Have you got any whiskey?”

“No,” she smiled and made no effort at all to hide the faint derision his request incited. “I used the last of it on your back. Probably the best use it’s ever had.”

“Coffee?” he revised, grin now solidly in place.

“Coffee I can supply,” she assured amiably and went to get the pot from the top of the stove.

* * *

The fever had returned shortly after sunset, and Sara was watching from her makeshift bed a few feet from the tossing, restless man tangled in the sheets. He’d sapped his strength throughout the day, obstinately refusing to go back to bed. The chills had started after supper, then the fever came back with a vengeance. He was suffering the demons that haunted his dreams, too, she noted with uneasy fear. He talked a lot when he was delirious with fever. Most of what he talked about was terrifying.

Sara had moved from the cabin’s single bedroom the first night he’d spent in her home. She’d been afraid to leave him, fearing he’d die throughout that long night. Joshua had been put in the bed that was curtained off on the opposite side of the cabin; the makeshift bedroom that had been hers when Jim and Eve were alive and in the only bedroom. She mentally veered away from those reminiscences and concentrated on the man in the bed. She felt the subtle change before she saw the evidence her eyes needed to be certain.
He tried to get up.

Sara rose instantly, then ran to sit on the edge of the mattress. She ran a caressing stroke across his forehead and whispered his name. His skin was hot, the fever scorching it’s way insidiously into his brain, creating demons and terrors that she didn’t want to think about. Anything that could scare a man like Joshua Hamilton wasn’t something she much cared to contemplate.
“Joshua,” she whispered, catching his hand when it flailed wildly in an attempt to push away whatever was chasing him inside his mind. She turned aside, sank her hands into the chilled water in the bowl that still stood on the small table. As she began to wring the water from the compress she felt his hands encircle her waist and pull her downward. The cold rag hit the floor with a wet plop and she was suddenly wrestling with the delirious man.

“Joshua, stop it...”

He twisted, pinned her under him and her heart felt like it wanted to spring from her chest when she saw the inferno that lit his light hazel eyes. The brightness of fever was there, but beyond it was something equally potent.

“Stop this,” she reasserted.

Joshua ignored her and her breath deserted her when his head descended and his mouth covered hers in a kiss that made her entire body quiver with fright.

“Mr. Hamilton, don’t,” she pleaded long moments later. He was gentle now, his hands exploring as he murmured endearments and soft, pleasant sounds–all things meant for another woman. The woman he talked about so often in his delirium.

“I’m not your Sarah, Joshua,” she said quietly, forcing her voice to a steadiness that was sheer effort of will. “Look at me,” she demanded softly. “I’m Sara Grant, not Sarah Hamilton.”

For an impossible moment she thought he hadn’t heard her, then his head rose from her neck and he stared down at her. The raw torture she glimpsed made her regret her own defense for a few timeless seconds. He was a strong, driven man; the internal blaze was extinguished, his eyes shuttered and guarded as sanity returned with painful clarity.

“I’m sorry, Sara,” he whispered, moving off her with a slow, heavy sigh. “I’m sorry...” He covered his eyes with his hands and tried to steady his strained gasps for air.

Sara forcibly resisted the desire to pull him close again and offer whatever comfort she could give to his scarred and bleeding soul. She knew he’d reject anything other than quiet dismissal of what had just happened.

“Try to sleep,” she murmured gently, and slid from the bed as unobtrusively as she could manage. She bent to retrieve the compress, dropped it back into the water and went to her blankets. As she walked, she pretended her knees weren’t shaking, and her heartbeat roaring so loudly within her that he could probably hear it from the other side of the room. He was still now, unnaturally so; she suspected he spent a great deal of time that way. He was too good at not moving.

“Would you like to talk about it?” she asked into the darkness.

“No.”

There was enough finality in the single syllable to effectively end any further attempts at conversation for the night.

THIS is the pendant that will be given to one lucky winner at the end of the Hop, as well as a copy of the Silver Bells Duet. Two runner up winners will receive the eBook, as well. Happy Christmas, everyone!!

Coming Soon from Kinsey Knight @KaydenMcLeod #RomFantasy

Elemental Earth
Kinsey Knight
Coming Soon!
YA Fantasy

Blurb:

My name is Trinity Liathain, typical human teenager to many. But reality is I’m a young fae, split between two very different worlds. Just as I find a guy who I can be myself with, my little corner of Blue Cove erupts in drama I’m not prepared for. The gauntlet to a war that shouldn’t be mine is at my door, bringing creatures that terrify and mesmerize me. I’m visited by ancient forces who for some reason, think I’m the answer to another dimension’s problems. They grant me tremendous power to protect myself. From what, you ask? If my short journey through life has taught me anything, it’s that the people closest to you, make the worst enemies.

Excerpt:

A feather-soft sensation grazed my hand. A long deep breath didn’t fortify me when I craned my neck. I tore my hand away.

A tarantula the size of a football crawled over my book, clear liquid dripping from its oversized fangs. Where the venom touched, chunks of my book disintegrated.

The chair careened behind me, as I jumped to my feet. Adrian’s growl shook the windows, the only warning of my stupid mistake. He reached for me too late. Mr. Conevetti’s stick arm shot around my waist, and dragged me over the desk.

“You can’t ssstop me.” His mechanical screech resonated through my eardrums. “He wantsss her.”

I choked back a scream as he gave up his glamour, revealing a horrific face caught between an alien and an ant. I flailed, punching him in the neck, shoulder—anything my fist blindly reached. His rock hard exoskeleton prevented his injury. Cuts broke out over my knuckles.

“Put her down,” Adrian snapped, every pound the Goblin royal.

“Trinity…” My name coming from those pincers serving for a mouth was the single most horrible thing I’ve ever heard. He hissed at Adrian, who circled us.

I was not, nor ever would I be a damsel in distress, waiting for her prince to save her. Not in this life time, or the next. I sought any kink in his armor. I elbowed the bug man in the face, gritting my teeth as his pincers sliced into my flesh.

He released me with a surprised squeal. I landed wrong on my feet. My knees ached, but I ran. My momentum propelled me toward the terminals. I jumped, my foot landing on the chair. I was airborne, flying over the grotesque spider and the computers, thrashing awkwardly on my descent. The back of my head slammed against the opposite terminal, changing my trajectory. I hit the floor, twisting my ankle. The shock of pain on top of everything else forced a gasp from me.

The spider dropped, scuttling across the floor.

“You all right?” Adrian yelled. Under the row of desks, only legs were visible—a pair of jean clad ending in thick biker boots, and two sticks in loafers.

“I’m good!” I lied through my teeth.

The spider scurried closer. I ripped a keyboard out of its USB port, wielding it as a weapon. The thing paused.

“Come on. I don’t have all day.”

It jerked, as if it understood. It crept around me, I suppose seeking a weak spot. It lunged, and I swung. I hit the rounded, furry body across the room like a baseball. It hit the window with a sickening thump, and didn’t move again. The acidic poison from it fangs ate through the glass in watery line. The rancid smell intensified.

I peeked over the walls of the desk. Adrian darted and weaved, the skill of a fighter shocking me. Sure, every now and then a guy might scrap, but this was taking it to another level. Mr. Conevetti wasn’t fast enough for him.

They danced around each other in a primal, masculine array. Adrian bared his teeth. “Trinity, for the love of the Goddess, run!”

Observations Artist vs. Author @KaydenMcLeod #RomFantasy @DenyseBridger

Once in a while in this business, you see someone you admire and care about taking a whole lot of crap that is simply the result of petty and malicious assholes who can’t accept their own UNimportance. Most of us who’ve been around a few years realize this is all part of the business, even if it does suck shit on a major scale. I know from personal experience, and recent experience at that, what it feels like when people who don’t know you at all–other AUTHORS–decide they have the right to judge where your loyalties lie, and why you make certain decisions. NONE of these people know you, but they post freely on public forums about everything from your motivations to your integrity–and not once are you actually asked about the things they’re prattling on about.

What has motivated this post today you ask? Well, simply put, I want to speak about one of the most talented and generous people I’ve ever met in this business. A lady who is one of the best cover artists in the business, as well as a gifted writer. See, she’s been the art director at two publishing houses over the past few years, and she is damn good at her work. BUT, in both instances, she’s had the misfortune to end up working for houses populated with ingrate authors who think they’re a whole lot more important than they really are, and who behave like petulant brats, not the professionals they claim to be. Because they can’t be indulged repeatedly, they’ve taken to slamming this lady in public and trashing her reputation, all because she has no more time to devote to them and their covers.

So, Kayden McLeod is the woman in question here. An amazing talent who has created the best covers my books have ever had. She’s creative, intuitive, and truly gifted. But, like all artists, if she’s to create a “perfect” cover, she needs workable input from the authors she’s working with–and in many cases what she gets is vague mumbo-jumbo gibberish that she is then expected to magically make the cover from. Despite what many amateur-minded authors think, it’s not the cover that sells the book–Kayden could give you an award worthy cover, but if your book is crap, it will still be called crap. Once your cover has been delivered, be grateful it’s been done by a professional with such a deft hand that even using images that have graced other covers, you still have something personal and unique. Kayden cares about her work, and devotes a lot of time to it, she makes each book cover distinct and beautiful.

At least two publishers have allowed their “authors” to nit-pick, snark, and generally be a pain in the ass to this artist. Is it any wonder she’s ready to pack up her talent and retreat? One house went so far as to allow an author to change the cover entirely after release. In professional circles this type of bullshit is unheard of, and it shouldn’t be permitted in small presses. Major publishers don’t allow authors huge input into the covers, but small presses do–and because of that, many authors think it’s their right to be total jackasses about their cover, as if it’s the most important aspect of the whole process.

Honestly, instead of spewing your malice and malcontent, why don’t you suck it up and get on with the business of promoting your book–graced by a professional and undoubtedly beautiful cover created by this lady. My website, blogs, and many of my books have been highly praised for the distinctive beauty of the graphic designs that are on the pages–and all of that work belongs to Kayden McLeod. Her work has been used by New York Times Best-selling authors to promote their books, and her company has designed some of the most beautiful sites you could ever find among author sites. So, really, why not shut your faces with the complaints, and get off the internet slamming someone who did her job. Then go about learning your end of the business. Maybe next time you’ll be more adept at explaining what you want on a book cover, though I doubt you’ll ever be fortunate enough to have someone with Kayden’s talent designing it for you.

Genie Gabriel Book Tour @DenyseBridger #RomFantasy

UNLIKELY ANGEL
by Genie Gabriel

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
A child psychiatrist running from violence and a former bodyguard grieving the wife he couldn't save form an unlikely alliance to rescue her kidnapped children. In a crumbling mine tunnel on Christmas Eve, their lives depend on a mutt rescued from the streets, a determined mother and an Unlikely Angel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT:

While Mitch set the tree in the stand, Julia gathered supplies for ornaments and explained to the twins what they were going to do. The twins were delighted, as they hadn’t been allowed to touch the fussy tinsel and glass ornaments on the tree in the West Hills house. Just one more reminder of how suppressed her children’s joy had been. Julia much preferred this homemade Christmas tree.

The tiny apartment soon became littered with scraps of paper, as loops of red and green chains took shape. The popping of corn rattled a cheerful accompaniment to the giggles of the twins as Julia brought another bowl of popcorn for Mitch to add to the string the dog snitched pieces from.

“Why don’t you just give him some popcorn?” Julia asked.

“He won’t eat it except off the string.” Mitch threw a disgusted look toward the dog. “It must be a new game.”

Julia turned away to hide her smile. The tree was shaping up beautifully, even if Angelina insisted on hanging all her handmade ornaments on the same three branches. “Anyone want refills on hot chocolate?”

When Julia returned from the kitchen, the room had grown quiet.

“Your helpers are asleep,” Mitch said.

The twins lay curled like cherubs next to the dog beneath the spreading limbs of the now decorated tree.

“Do you want to move them to bed?” Mitch asked.

Julia nodded. Soon the twins were settled in their beds for the night.

“Sometimes I just want to watch my children.” Julia’s heart swelled with joy as she gazed at Abraham and Angelina. “If I could have one thing for Christmas, I’d ask for my children to be safe.”

Julia and Mitch lapsed into silence for a moment, absorbing the innocence of the twins as they slept. “What would you ask for, Mitch?”

Mitch stared at Julia for a moment longer. His gaze caressed every inch of her face and finally settled on her mouth. “A kiss from you.”

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

I'm an optimist whose rose-colored glasses have bent frames and cracked lenses. When life kicks me in the teeth, I find miracles and lessons I refused to learn an easier way. In fact, I live with a small herd of miracles in the furry forms of dogs, who are constantly trying to teach me to forgive, to play more, and to love without limits. I write about people who find courage and integrity in the darkest times of their lives, who rescue stray dogs and kittens, who find a person they would willingly give their lives for, and who make their little corners of the world a better place. People have remarked my stories "aren't what they expected." With rose-colored glasses firmly in place, I take that as a compliment. I invite you to share a piece of my world in the pages of a book, and hope you find some surprises, some tears, some laughter, and always a happy ending.

GIVEAWAY

Genie will be awarding a $25 Amazon GC to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour.

Also, if you'd like to follow Genie's tour, all the dates and info can be found at Goddess Fish Promotions. Remember, the more you comment, the better your chances of winning!) The tour dates can be found here: UNLIKELY ANGEL TOUR

December Newsletter @DenyseBridger #RomFantasy

Thank you all for your patience, I know the newsletter is seldom monthly, but I do appreciate your interest more than I can say. One of my goals next year is to get a newsletter out each month, even if it's a shorter one. I'm also toying with the idea of creating a PDF newsletter that will be delivered as an attachment. Who would prefer that? Any comments/suggestions for things you'd like to see are always welcome, just drop me a note here: romanceandfantasy-owner@yahoogroups.com

So, news and things. Let's start with the various Giveaways and Hops I'm in the middle of at the moment. The first one is tied to my Holiday Duet with Brigit Aine. We wrote the two stories in Silver Bells and the book was released only a week before Christmas last year, so there was little chance to share it with you. This year, we're giving away the lovely hand-crafted silver bell earrings that are a part of the story. The contest will close on December 13th, the winner will be announced on December 14th, and the earrings will be sent on the 15th. ALL the details, and a photo of the earrings you can win, are here. All it takes to win is a comment, so please drop in when you have a chance and check out this lovely book!

Also, for anyone who might have missed this last year, Dark Angel is back as a FREE Read via Coffeetime Romance, and you can download it here

I also did a wonderful interview with Coffeetime recently. It was a ton of fun and the interviewer asked some terrific questions. Plus there are pictures! You can access our chat here

I've been involved in several Holiday blog hops, too - and the first two are in progress now. The first one ends in a couple of days, and it's the Naughty Giveaway Hop: Details hereThere are the two prizes up for grabs, but the hop ends tomorrow!

I've also done a very cool interview with author Lynn LaFleur for her newsletter, and it's beautiful! If you'd like to check it out, along with an excerpt from the re-released Heart of Stone novella, you can find it here

So, since we're chatting releases, let's talk about the two latest ones, and two that are coming soon.

Heart of Stone
Available from:
Amazon  |  Bookstrand

Randall Stone is the stuff of heroes, a mercenary given a discharge from the army he has served with his life. But the government is still interested in using the skills they've taught Major Rand Stone, and he continues to work with his hand-picked team. Into his shadowy world a light has come, and in her love, Stone discovers unhoped for joy, and, perhaps, unbearable sorrow?

As you can see, my blogs tend to be the best stop to keep up with all the stuff that's going on! And, I've posted a few of the new items that I'm currently working on, one of them being my first shifter story. You can have a peek at that one here.
PIRATES
Formerly called ROGUES, revised and reedited
New Dawning International Book Fair
Genre: Adventure Fantasy/Romance (mildly erotic)

Three stories, one kind of hero, pirates anyone? Includes the short stories Angel-Fire, Storm-Singer, and The Phantom’s Lair… Historical adventure, and the darker mystery of an ageless vampire who keeps a witch at his side, his protector and his lover through eternity...

And what about my very first contemporary cowboy? Well, are you ready to share the TEXAS HEAT? It's coming soon from New Dawning International Book Fair. Details here!

Blurb:

Chase Jordan is a man with half his life missing since his return from the war in Iraq. He arrives back in Texas, a drifter looking for home. When he arrives at the Double D ranch, the owners know him, even if he can’t remember them. Cheyenne’s been infatuated with Chase since her high school days, but Deke MacKenzie’s already made it clear to Chase that his kid sister is off limits.

A loner by nature, and even more so now as PTSD plagues him, Chase rejects Cheyenne’s efforts to seduce him. He senses complications he wants no part of if he gets too close to her, and part of his soul is very much at home on the Double D. When an old boyfriend of Cheyenne’s goads him into a fight, his anger put him on all kinds of edge–and Cheyenne’s determination to turn up the Texas Heat get her in over her head...

Chase has warned her, he doesn’t play nice. When she ignores his invitation to leave, she puts herself at the mercy of his anger, his lust, and the most explosive passion she’s ever experienced... But what happens when the “job” is over, and Chase turns his back on her again? Memories are waking, the kind that will change both their lives in dramatic ways.

My next release is December 20th, and will be my first with Crimson Frost Books. This is a revised to the point of being new version of Royal Consort. TRIAD OF POWER is now a trilogy, and First Quest is the rewritten Consort tale. I've arranged for the cover reveal to be tomorrow, over at Sweet 'n Sexy Divas. I promise you, it's a hugely different look for this story, but the cover's wonderful!

I have two more blog hops before the end of this year, and one of them involves our furry friends. It's the Christmas Paws hop, and as always there are fabulous prizes to be won - this time a $200 gift card, plus a special gift for your special fur baby. So, please do come over and check out all the great posts, plus enter to win

In other news, I've signed my third contract with Eirelander Publishing for a wicked/naughty little story that was inspired by the old 900 phone numbers that were so popular in the late 80's and early 90's. If you're old enough to remember those beautiful, buxom babes who were begging you to call them, you'll get the humour that is part of 1-900-SURPRISE! No cover yet, but I'll keep you posted, because I have a feeling it will be an interesting one!

I've been reintroducing readers to a lot of my older titles recently, and one of the best ones is THE GATES OF INFINITY. Part pirate tale, part time travel fantasy, and very sexy, it's a title worth visiting if you haven't encountered it before:

The Gates of Infinity (novella)
Genre: Erotic Pirate Fantasy

THE GATES OF INFINITY lead to a different world where passion and deception may yet destroy two universes about to collide. Will time continue to turn upon itself, or will the mirror of our world open the gate and return stranded pirates and their sorcerous consorts to familiar shores?

Check out all my older titles with Liquid Silver Books right here

For many readers, you will never have seen some of these works, including my Jack the Ripper inspired Victorian mysteries, The Devane Files: Out of Hell and An Unspoken Betrayal. Some of the my best stories!!

I now have two books out in Audio format, and the second one is superb. If you like romance that is take-your-breath-away, try the new release of BELLA SIGNORINA. It's finally out in the original version I wrote, a little sexier, but sigh-worthy romantic!! Find it here in AUDIO:  Or, in eBook
